Manufacturing Public Space
In 2006, IBZs were established to protect existing manufacturing districts and encourage industrial growth citywide. The area designation fosters a high-performing business district by creating competitive advantages over re-locating. The IBZs are supported by tax credits, zone-specific planning efforts, and direct business assistance. The city will NOT support rezoning of these areas for residential use, so the industrial sector can continue to grow in place.
